HRX Giving is a part of who we are. Each year, we work together on a range of charitable projects supporting both local and global initiatives. We are a small company but giving big comes naturally to us. With every event that we’ve worked on, our hearts grow bigger and our appetite to give stronger. Making a difference to the lives of others is meaningful to us as individuals and as HRX.
Our Giving timeline:
Following the success of the 10.10.10 event, we hosted the HRX Sleepout again to raise money for Sydney’s homeless youth.
In July, a team of HRXers travelled to Tanzania to donate services and expertise to the School of St Jude. The school is an independent, sponsorship-supported institution that provides education for Tanzanian children from the lowest socio economic backgrounds. We worked with the school to establish several projects including support for their volunteer recruitment processes, an IT infrastructure project and development of a marketing video to drive sponsorships.
As our way of recognising the homeless on World Homeless Day, HRX developed the idea of running a ‘sleepout’ to raise funds for Sydney’s homeless youth, whereby participants slept out under the stars at Centennial Park for a night. We organised the event, involved our clients, raised money through sponsorships and volunteered on the night itself with the vending of food and drinks. All funds went to our partner Mission Australia.
HRX funded and assisted in the building of four secondary school classrooms for HIV orphans in the Ugandan village of Watoto. A team of HRXers were chosen as representatives to travel to Uganda to complete the project. By the end of the trip, Watoto Village became more than just a project; it was an eye-opening experience for everyone involved.
